The aims and objectives of the Samiti are :

• ARKSS as NGO will be a non-political, democratic social service charitable organisation for the benifit of farmers.
• To unite the farmers of the state with purpose to benifit the farmers by way of solidarity, work-culture and self-sufficiency.
• To organize the farmers for management of natural resources, utilize wastelands, fallow lands and other land resources and water bodies, forest resources ecologically and sustainably as a source of livelihood.
• To undertake the process of scientific way of cultivation as per modern methods with emphasis in the following areas :
  1. Use of improved seeds, fertilizers plant protection measures.
  2. Encourage farmers for organic farming, bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, mixed farming.
  3. Use of improved machinery, implements, plant protection equipments etc.
  4. Post harvest technology.
• Facilitate establishment of agro-based industries and agri-business such as production of certified seeds of rice and oil seeds; good quality seeds of vegetables; rice, jute and wheat food products; fruit nurseries; fruit preservation unit; zero-energy cold storage, agri-growth center; fertlizer and pesticide dealers; bee keeping; bio-fertilizer; tissue culture; poultry feed; fish feed; mixed farming; dairy and poultry farming; fishery and sericulture.
• Develop local market, marketing facilities so that the farmers get due price of their produce.
• Facilitate to acquire tractors, power tillers, plant protection and farming equipments from concerned departments, institutions including getting loans and pursue.
• Facilitate soil testing for higher and economic crop production.
• Facilitate getting loans from financial institutions for improved cultivation, establishing agro-based industries, agri-business, fishery, irrigation pumps etc. and pursue loan recovery.
• Help formatting of Self Help Groups (SHG), and other groupings of small and marginal and landless farmers and facilitate for their livelihood.
• To assess training needs at various levels and impart training to participating farmers in various important learning centers.
• Organize Exhibition, Farmers Day, Field tours to various important learning centers.
• Establish co-ordination with Govt. Department well-known institutions, universities, NGOs etc. and work is collaboration with the officers, scientists teachers.
• To organize workshop, seminars, training camps at various places in agri. and allied areas.
• Efforts to reduce or stop getting agri and allied area-based commodities from outside the state of Assam which are having potential to produce in the state.
• Arrange exporting quality and surplus agribased product.
• Encourage applying indigenous technologies blended with scientific technologies for fighting poverty.
• To get benifit of new era from oppurtunities and challenges offerd and turn crisis in the advantages.
• Develop the agricultural foundation based on the principle of ecology, economy and equality interwoven.
• To implements projects as may be assigned by client-organization.
• To carry out socio economic survey, field study participatory experiments with farmers, demonstrations in the aspects of rural development activities in agri, and allied areas and consultancy for identifying, planning and executing need-based development projects for Govt. development agencies and others which may require the service of ARKSS.
• To organize branches, centers or establishments at district, sub-division and block level and co-operate with other agencies with similar objectives.
• All service charges recieved or derived shall be used for understanding objects of ARKSS and for furtherance of the aims & objectives.
• To accept subscribtions, donations from any legitimate source.
• To recieved grants in aid from Govt., Local Bodies, Corporation or any other sources for fulfilment of the objectives of ARKSS.

Project / Schemes of ARKSS

ARKSS - endeavours to create awreness about developmental programmes, encourage educated youth to work with modern technologies in agriculture, horticulture, pisciculture, veterinary, sericulture & weaving, agri-engineering, agro-based industries to support proper socio economic development of human resource.

• The society implements all necessary commercial multiple schemes to help members for economically self dependent.
• The members with landed property will allow to use their land for improved cultivation, the ownership of which will be with the member.
• For all types of commercial ventures agro-based industries business & management training will be imparted periodically to the members.
• Insurance facilities will be available wherever applicable.

How does ARKSS works ?

ARKSS works through the members of its own. The society may prepare its own project proposal or invite project proposals from members as per its guidelines. ARKSS shall have elaborate guidelines for different scheme to be implemented by it. The choice of schemes of the members lies solely with their own interest and ability.

ARKSS, however, expects that the schemes are identified by the members in consultation with the resource persons of concerned department, village community, particularly the intended beneficiaries and reflects the felt needs of the people. Once the proposals are recieved at ARKSS Head Office, these will be processed in the concerned section / division. If the proposal clears the initial scrutiny, it will be referred to an expert for detailed pre-sanction appraisal. Based on the appraisal report, the proposal will be either sanctioned or rejected.

How to apply ?

To become a member of Samiti, the persons / farmers have to apply as per ARKSS guidelines.

Bank loan will be arranged by the society for genuine members.

Role of Department Authorities in ARKSS :

The Govt. Department and institutions such as AAU, DOA, Panchayat and Rural Development etc. will be constantly in touch for training and as friend, philosopher & guide to augment the development schemes of the society for the benefit of rural mass.
